Facilities & Capabilities

Until recently, our facilities have been used mostly by members of our own congregations. We're well organized now and can offer the facilities to other groups, providing a new mission trip opportunity for your congregation.

Our facilities and program are ideal for small groups of 10-20.  We can handle up to 30 at a time, but that’s honestly ‘crowded’.  15-20 is ideal.

We have two dorm rooms sleeping 10 persons each. Each dorm has a bathroom with two toilets and two showers, and plenty of hot water!!  We also have a separate house with two sleeping rooms and its own bathroom; also with hot water and flush toilets. We use the house when the two dorm rooms are full.

Our kitchen and dining room is staffed by three local cooks. The food is fresh, and really good.  We have our own water purification system.

Gualaco is a quiet community. Though we have never had any problems, we'll still have 24 hour security on the premises while you're there...just to be safe.

Your one-week mission trip to Honduras will be well organized. Pablo Padilla will meet you at the airport in Tegucigalpa on Saturday and guide you out to Gualaco. Work projects will have been organized in advance. Whether you're doing construction, medical, or VBS, you'll be fully involved with the local people. You'll work in or around their homes...side by side with them. You'll visit local schools (they're very open to VBS activities, games, crafts, etc.) and you'll worship with local brethren. And as you recap the day, you'll participate in fantastic devos. You'll experience the Lord in a deeper, richer way than you may have before.

(By the way, I go down there to "help" the people, but find they do more for me than I do for them.)

The in-country portion of your trip is $400 per person. This will cover your in-country transportation, food, work supplies (cement, etc.) and hotel on the last night.  Add to that your airfare, departure tax ($38), final meal in Tegucigalpa, and souvenir money.

On Friday, you'll drive back to Tegucigalpa where you'll stay in a very nice hotel; easing you back into "normal" life before departing for home the next day. (Please note that all trips are scheduled "Saturday to Saturday".)

Normally, we do not have an English speaker on-site.  However for 2011, John Cranford will be there through the summer season directing the group activities.  So even if you don’t speak Spanish, you can visit our mission.

Please contact either of the Johns with any questions, or for more information.
